Iowa’s State Auditor has launched a program to help get a meal to those who need it while supporting local businesses. Auditor Rob Sand says the goal is to help support each other through this pandemic and has gone outside of his official capacity to start the program. He’s launched the program with one month of his salary plus $10,000 fundraised.
So, if you are in Iowa and unemployed, self-employed, or on food stamps you qualify. You can help by ordering a meal at your favorite local restaurant affected by closure orders. The program will reimburse you up to $20 when you email your receipt to HelpIowansHelpIowans@gmail.com. As long as there are funds available the program will continue. Look below for specific steps on how to take part in the program.
