The start of the spring sports season will have to wait longer than expected, as the Iowa High School Unified Activities partners announced on Friday they would extend their activity suspension.
Continued novel coronavirus concerns have pushed the potential return date for high school sports from April 13th to May 1st. This decision was made in response to Governor Kim Reynolds announcement on Thursday to extend school closures through the end of the month. The Iowa High School Unified Activities partners include the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, and Iowa High School Speech Association.
