Keota basketball standout JD Stout will take his talents 45 minutes to the west, as the senior recently committed to William Penn University in Oskaloosa.

The 6’0’’ guard was a thorn in opponents’ side for the last four seasons and capped off his prep career with a first-team all state selection by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association. Stout led the Eagles to a 20-4 campaign this year and topped the class 1A leaderboard with 29.1 points per game. He shot 55% from the floor and was a marksman from deep connecting on 38% of his attempts.

The Statesmen are no strangers to winning either, as they were crowned Heart of America Athletic Conference champs this past winter with a 30-3 record and have received a bid to the NAIA National Tournament in each of the past five seasons. Stout tells KCII Sports what led him to William Penn. “I’ve always watched them when I was younger. My dad had a former player that went there and we followed their second place run so the program is very familiar to me. They win a lot and that’s what I want to be a part of.”

Stout has yet to pinpoint a major for this fall, but has an interest in business.
