A letter of intent was approved from the City of Washington to Brava Roof Tile for the Whitesell Building at this week’s Washington City Council meeting. The purchase price of the property shall be $1,245,000 and paid in monthly installments of about $8,500.

The building at 915 East Tyler Street was gifted to the city after the business closed last fall. City Administrator Brent Hinson said, “I think we’ve got a great agreement that is mutually beneficial. We just can’t execute the final agreement until we own the building which is expected May 15. And, also, would have to have a public hearing before you could formally adopt the agreement.” This letter of intent was approved by the council and additional official action will be held next month once the city officially owns the building.

Brava Roof Tile will take possession of the building on July 1st. Brava Roof Tile makes composite roof tiles that are fully recyclable and have the highest rating for impact. The Washington County Courthouse has Brava Roof Tile on its roof.
