The tax rate for the Washington School District will be increasing slightly come July 1st. At their regular meeting Wednesday, the school board approved the fiscal year 2020-21 budget. Superintendent Willie Stone said the new tax rate will be going up eight cents to $15.93 per $1,000 taxable valuation. It’s currently at $15.85 per $1,000 taxable valuation. The school board met electronically due to the COVID-19 pandemic and their meetings are accessible to the public online.
