A window fan caught fire on Saturday at a Mount Union home. At 9:05 a.m. the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a fire in the 100 block of West Railroad Street in Mount Union. Mount Union Fire Chief Shawn Denze says Winfield Fire and Rescue and Mount Union Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene and extinguished the fire. He says the attached garage sustained minimal smoke damage and the fire was contained quickly. All Individuals and pets were able to escape the home and were not injured.
