Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and many businesses being closed, including casinos, grant cycles with the Washington County Riverboat Foundation have been cancelled. In their meeting Wednesday, the WCRF board took official action to cancel the 2020 spring grant cycle as well as the summer mini-grants.

Organizations that applied for spring grants can use those applications in future grant applications. WCRF Executive Director Patty Koller tells KCII News that those applications will remain in the online management portal for those organizations to access, but they will not automatically carry over to the fall. All of the Foundation’s grant award funding comes from gaming revenue at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. Casinos have been ordered closed through April 30th by Governor Kim Reynolds.
