While organized sporting events continue to be cancelled across the nation, the YMCA of Washington County found a new way for youngsters to be active and still abide by social distancing practices.
With their 2020 Youth Track meet event cancelled, the YMCA of Washington County decided to host a virtual track meet for individuals 12 years or younger. Participants simply record themselves competing in their backyard in four different events that include the 40-yard dash, 400m dash, long jump, and softball shotput. To be eligible, individuals must fill out an event sheet with their results and either post a picture or video of them competing in an event to Facebook. All participants will have a chance to be one of three winners for a prize.
Posts must be made to the YMCA of Washington County Facebook page by Sunday, April 26th to be entered.
