Districts across the state have decided how best to finish classes as schools have been ordered closed for the rest of the school year with some only doing voluntary virtual learning and others requiring it. According to the Legislative Services Agency, 285 districts have voluntary educational enrichment with no grading or credit given. Five districts are requiring all students to participate, attendance is taken, and work is graded with credit given. And 37 school districts are doing a combination of the two. Washington, Keota, Mid-Prairie, and Williamsburg schools are doing a combination. All other districts in the KCII-listening area are doing voluntary educational enrichment.

Districts and nonpublic schools that offer continuous learning will be waived the instructional time requirements for the school year. Each district had to submit their plans to the Iowa Department of Education.
