When the Indian Hills Community College wrestling teams hit the mat for the first time in program history next winter, they will do so with one Southeast Iowa athlete.
Columbus Community senior Gracie Morrison has decided to join the Warriors in their inaugural season. Both the men’s and women’s will have a squad for the first time and Cole Spree, former Ellsworth Community College head coach, will lead the charge.
Morrison tells KCII Sports wrestling is in her blood. “Wrestling has always been a big part of my life. I wrestled as a kid and it has always been something I worked really hard in. This is a goal of mine that I have set and I am really looking forward to it.”
The senior was a manager for the Wildcat program and was also involved in golf, volleyball, softball, 4-H, and FFA in her time at Columbus.
Once she receives her associate degree in Centerville, Morrison plans to enroll in a dental program.
