Long time Lone Tree head boys basketball coach Tom Squiers continues to ascend the all-time coaching wins list in Iowa high school history. Squiers, who began as head man for the Lions in the 86-87 season, has 454 career wins against just 253 defeats, a 64% winning percentage. In their most recent season the Lions went 14-10. With those 14 wins Squires moved past Estel Alexander of Hubbard-Radcliffe, Bryce Wickett of LuVerne, Glenn Fiihr at Lynnville Sully, and Bill Ashmore of Armstrong-Ringstead. He currently stands in 58th place all-time.
