All Mid-Prairie staff will see a salary increase for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. The Mid-Prairie School Board agreed to raise all the staff’s salaries by 3.06%. While Superintendent Mark Schneider is not involved in the salary increase decision, he was grateful the board put their faith and trust in him. He told the board his thoughts on the increase, “I have never negotiated my salary other than the very first one and I negotiated it down not up. I can’t even tell you what this means. This was the first time I heard the figures tonight. I don’t believe it’s appropriate for the superintendent to make a recommendation. I enjoy being here. If I didn’t enjoy it I wouldn’t be here. I don’t do it for the money, I know my family would probably kill me if they heard me say that. To me, it’s more of a compensation to them than it is for me. I just want to say I am very appreciative.” Board Member Gabrielle Frederick thanked Schneider for his leadership throughout the school closures and transition to online learning. The board unanimously approved the motion.
