Street improvements are on the agenda for Tuesday’s Washington City Council meeting. The council will consider a resolution adopting plans and estimate of cost for the 2020 sealcoat project and will award a contract. The council will also consider plans and award a contract for North 4th Avenue improvements.

Also on the agenda is an item that was discussed at the last meeting, changing speed zones on West 5th Street near North Avenue D where the new YMCA facility has been constructed. With traffic anticipated to increase in the area, the council is considering lowering the speed zones from North Avenue D and then west to Highway 1.
