A record low temperature was set in Washington over Mother’s Day weekend. According to the National Weather Service, the temperature dropped to 26 degrees early Saturday. That low dip broke the record of 29 degrees set in 1945. Normally the low temperature for May 9th in Washington is 47 degrees. People were advised to cover plants or bring them indoors over the weekend to protect them from the freezing temperatures.
