The traditional Memorial Day ceremonies in Washington have been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each year American Legion Post 29 in Washington holds a ceremony with a keynote speaker, a reading of veterans who have passed in the last year, and live music. The Washington ceremony has been cancelled.

In Ainsworth, American Legion Post #351 has announced that members of the post will place flags in the Oregon Township Cemetery to honor those who have passed. They will then render honors to veterans who have passed at 10 a.m. Monday (5/25). The public may attend but social distancing requirements will be in place.
