Today is the first day of the KCII Home Shopping Special Edition. The two-day shopping event allows a way for listeners to purchase gift certificates to area businesses at a discounted rate live on-air. The special event runs from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Certificates for gardening supplies, restaurant visits, car services, home improvements, and more are available.

People can then pick up their items Friday or Saturday outside of the KCII Radio Station in downtown Washington, or KCII General Manager Joe Nichols explains there’s a no-contact option, “We’re going to offer mailing the certificates. So, you can send us a check for the items, and we’ll mail the certificates to you. Pay with a credit card over the phone and we’ll mail the certificates to you. And if weather is cooperating enough, we may do a pickup at the station but outside instead of everybody coming into the office and standing in a small space. We’ll keep social distancing. So, weather-permitting, we’re hoping to be able to also offer kind of a curbside pickup, if you will.”
