Iowa’s overall average typical cash rent for corn and soybean acres increased slightly from 2019 to 2020, but that wasn’t the case in southeast Iowa. The state’s average in 2019 was $219 and it rose to $222 this year. The overall average for District 9 which encompasses southeast Iowa was $210 last year and is $205 this year. The overall average cash rent for corn and soybeans per tillable acre was $235 in Washington County. That was the highest average of any county in District 9. District 9 includes Washington, Louisa, Des Moines, Lee, Henry, Keokuk, Jefferson, Van Buren, Mahaska, Wapello, and Davis counties.
