Additional businesses can open in Iowa starting Monday. On Tuesday, Governor Kim Reynolds announced further COVID-19 restrictions being lifted. Starting Monday casinos, racetracks, outdoor performance venues, bowling alleys, and amusement parks may be allowed to open at 50% capacity and with social distancing measures in place. Also, the moratorium on foreclosures and evictions ends this week. Bars can open starting this Thursday.

People are still encouraged to wash their hands frequently, practice social distancing, and wear masks. In Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen encouraged people to continue practices to stay safe, “After a trip to the store this weekend, I just want to reiterate that staying home is the best idea. And when you go out to the store, please do not take your entire family. There’s no reason for two adults and three kids to be at the store, when you could have one person taking care of that. Please, wear a mask. It’s not going to hurt you to wear the mask, and it’s going to protect the people around you.”
