Over an inch of rain fell in Washington Thursday and sunny skies are expected the rest of the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, Washington had 1.25 inches of rain Thursday. In the month of May, rainfall in Washington has been about an inch above normal. So far this year, the total rainfall has been slightly below normal, and the average temperature has been 39.5 degrees, about one degree above normal.
