Central Park will transform into the Washington Farmers’ Market on Thursday. The first market of the season is being held with a few changes to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Access points will be limited to the market, which runs from 5-7 p.m. People will be asked to move through the market in a single direction and maintain a six-foot social distance when waiting for a vendor. All benches and picnic tables will not be available, and people are asked to not eat in the park. No children under 16 will be admitted and there should only be one person per household. Masks are strongly encouraged. Each booth will have two people working, one who handles money and the other who handles the product.
The market will have an online order platform each week for people to order ahead of time and then pick up their vegetables, baked goods, fruit, and other locally made products curbside. This is the Washington Farmers’ Market’s 32nd season.
