While there may not be ducks in the Centennial Fountain this year, there are still Ridiculous Days festivities being held. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Washington’s annual Ridiculous Day has been altered and expanded to three days. The celebration that includes ridiculous sales with local businesses includes sidewalk sales, in-store sales, and online sales this year, allowing people the opportunity to support local businesses while social distancing.
KCII will be streaming live music with the Washington Chamber of Commerce this evening starting at 7 p.m. on AM and FM KCII, online at KCIIRadio.com or on our free mobile apps. You can also see the KCII Big Red Radio downtown on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The three-day Ridiculous Days celebration culminates Saturday with a large antique tractor parade starting at 1:30 p.m. The route has been spread out through town so people can view the parade while social distancing. Washington Chamber of Commerce Director Michelle Redlinger encourages people along the parade route to hold up hand-made signs supporting farmers and the greater agricultural community as they’ve seen markets suffer during the COVID-19 pandemic this spring. Signs can also be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce.
