Reopening plans for the Kalona Public Library will be pushed back to next week. Library Co-Director Olivia Kahler says a COVID-19-positive individual was reported to have come in contact with some library staff last week, prompting the closure of the library. In accordance with public health officials, all affected staff members were instructed to self-isolate for two weeks and the library will remain closed through June 12. Once the library is cleaned and sanitized, the library will reopen to the public, in a phased approach. The reopening will start on June 15. During this time, the curbside pickup program will not be available, however the library’s online resources can still be accessed.
