The City of Riverside will reintroduce their late fees for city water and sewer services, but will not disconnect any services at this time. City Administrator Christine Yancey says individuals who are subject to late fees will receive a letter about their bill and are required to call city hall to work out a plan for repaying these fees. Bills are due by the 15th of each month, and a 10% penalty will be applied to all late accounts. The city has not been enforcing these during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disconnections happen when a bill is not paid by the 21st of the month. A $75 reconnection fee and the total amount of the bill must be paid to reinstate services. Bills can be paid by mail, dropped off at city hall, paid online, or automatic deposit by debit card.
