Further COVID-19 restrictions on businesses are being lifted in Iowa. Governor Kim Reynolds announced that the 50% capacity limit will be lifted Friday. However, the six-feet of social distancing is still required. This will include businesses like restaurants, bars, and theaters. Reynolds also said that swimming pools, senior centers, and adult daycare facilities may open so long as they follow health guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Dr. Caitlin Pedati said people should still maintain six feet of distance from others in public and wash hands frequently. She also encourages people to use cloth face masks in public and avoid touching it or adjusting it, and clean them regularly.
As of Wednesday at 11 a.m., Iowa had 22,516 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 629 deaths. So far, 13,545 people have recovered for a recovery rate of 60%.
