With capacity limits being lifted for many businesses across Iowa, the Washington County Conservation Board is using caution before reopening their buildings. The board voted to cancel their June lineup of summer camps and they are holding out a decision to cancel July’s camps at a later date. While the conservation center is open by appointment only and campgrounds are fully open for camping at this time, Executive Director Zach Rozmus is optimistic, “We’re kind of just getting to a point too where decisions are going to be made about our conservation center. We’re monitoring the situation day by day and hopefully we get to the point here in the near future where I’d hate to be cautiously optimistic on this situation, but things seem to be trending more positively where maybe this summer we can get to a point where we’re completely open to the public. But as of right now, we do still have some restrictions that are just precautionary here at Marr Park.” The conservation recently announced playgrounds and bathrooms have been reopened to the public. A final decision on July summer camps will be made on June 19th.
