A minor was taken to juvenile detention after being found with a firearm and multiple drug related items. On Sunday at 5:33 p.m. the Henry County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop near 5th Street and Dogwood Avenue in Trenton and found three juveniles occupying a vehicle. Sheriff’s personnel found multiple drug related items and a firearm inside the vehicle. Two of the juveniles were released into custody of guardians and the third was taken into custody and transported to juvenile detention. That juvenile was charged with controlled substance violation, a class D felony; carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor; and driving under suspension, a simple misdemeanor. The Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene. Names were not released.
