It’s been a busy opening week for the Sigourney baseball team and they are off to a 1-2 start after the first three days.
After the Savages fell to HLV 11-2 on opening night, they bounced back to pound Pleasantville 15-0 on Tuesday and dropped a high scoring affair 17-12 to Lynnville-Sully last night. Against the Trojans, the Savages scored in each of the first four innings and belted out 12 hits in the offensive outburst. Levi Crawford went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Payton Schauf knocked in three runs. Schauf pitched all four innings in the shortened contest and gave up just one hit and struck out six.
The same offense showed up on Wednesday against the Hawks, but so did Lynnville-Sully’s, as they scored in each of the first four frames including a six spot in the second to hold off Sigourney. Cade Molyneux plated four runs on two hits and Cade Streigle recorded three RBI. Crawford started the game and went three innings giving up two hits and a pair of runs.
The Savages look to get back to .500 tomorrow against BGM.
