A juvenile died after an accidental shooting near Kalona Friday morning. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at 10:20 a.m. emergency officials received a 911 call for an accidental shooting in the 1000 grid of Kiwi Avenue, west of Kalona. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, Washington County Ambulance Service, and Kalona First Responders responded to the scene. Upon arrival, a male juvenile was found deceased at the residence.

The incident is under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The name and age of the victim were not released. The Washington County Medical Examiner was contacted, and Yoder Powell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
