The Hillcrest Academy baseball and softball teams are back on the diamond Monday to take on the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons in Southeast Iowa Superconference action. The Raven baseball team comes into the game with an overall record of 1-3, having dropped three straight games since an opening night win over Highland, including a loss Thursday to Lone Tree 14-13. Hillcrest started a game Friday at Central Lee but the contest was suspended in the second inning. On the year the Ravens are hitting .240 led by Eli Ours with a .500 average, including six hits. He is tied with Luke Schrock for the team lead with four runs scored. London Schrock has a team best four RBI. On the mound the Ravens have a 6.65 team ERA led by Noah Miller at 1.50 with a 1-0 overall record and .133 batting average against.

Louisa-Muscatine is 3-1 so far this year, opening with wins over Winfield-Mt. Union, Columbus and West Burlington, before falling to Highland 17-2 last time out. On the season the Falcons are hitting .318 overall led by Kaiden Schneider with a .400 average and a team best seven runs scored. Chase Kruse, Gabe Hayes and Max McCulley have all driven in four. On the hill L-M has a team ERA of 6.68. Michael Danz and Maverik Lippougous each have thrown three innings without allowing a run to lead the Falcons. Lippougous, Kaleb Steele and Allen Stauffer have all recorded a win so far this year. The Ravens have won three straight in the series including a doubleheader sweep last year by 11-1 and 2-0 scores.

The Hillcrest softball team comes into tonight in search of their first win on the season with an 0-3 record. The Ravens were shut out last week in losses to Lone Tree, Cardinal and Highland. On the year, Hillcrest is hitting .083 with Esther Hughes at .333 to lead the way. The Ravens have a team ERA of 8.87 with Leah Bontrager throwing all 15 innings so far this year, posting an 0-3 record with a .296 opponent batting average against.

Louisa-Muscatine is 6-1 on the year. Last time out they split a doubleheader with Bettendorf, winning game one 4-3 and falling in game two 13-8. On the year the Falcons are hitting .397 as a team, led by Kylee Sanders with a .643 average. She has a team best nine hits and 12 runs scored. McKenna Hohenadel leads the Falcons with 10RBI. The Falcons have won 13 straight in the series with Hillcrest’s last victory coming in 2011. L-M swept Hillcrest last season by 12-0 and 7-0 scores. Softball action begins tonight at 5:30 in Letts. The baseball teams will face off at 7p.m. in Kalona.
