The English Valleys softball bats broke out in a big way on Monday en route to a 18-2 win over Keota in South Iowa Cedar League action.
The Bears plated two runs in the first, six in the second, and exploded for 10 in the third that led to the short three-inning game. Addy Westfall had a productive night for English Valleys going 3-for-3 with two RBI. The Eagles recorded four hits led by Makenzie Jackson going 2-for-2 with one RBI. Katelyn Swantz and Macie McDonald had the other hits for Keota. Alexia Purkeypile took the loss in the circle giving up four earned runs on 10 hits and striking out three.
Keota is now 0-4 and they get back on the diamond tomorrow at Sigourney.
