Hot and humid conditions are in the forecast for the KCII-listening area through the Fourth of July holiday. The National Weather Service expects high temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s with slight chances of showers and storms each day.

Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen shares some advice on how to stay safe during these hot temperatures, “If it’s extremely hot out, don’t do anything too strenuous. Make sure you’re wearing light clothing. Put on your sunscreen. And be checking on your family members and any neighbors that you know of that are at risk.” Reisen says people at risk of being affected more extremely by the heat are those who are older, the really young, and those who are overweight.

The high temperature expected in Washington on July 4th is 90 degrees, below the record that was set in 1936 at 108 degrees. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
