Over 40% of Iowa is experiencing drought conditions. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 41.83% of Iowa is abnormally dry and 7.24% is in moderate drought. Most of the dry conditions can be found in the western half of the state, however a section of abnormally dry land can be found in five eastern counties stretching from Muscatine County up to Jackson County.

Drought conditions have increased recently, as last week only 19.34% of Iowa was abnormally dry.

On Thursday, Washington received half an inch of rain.
