Summer camps at Marr Park will bring children on a fun and healthy adventure this week. To comply with COVID-19 guidelines, the conservation board will follow rules to keep campers as safe and healthy as possible. Camps will be limited to eight kids per camp; temperature checks will be required before a camper can stay for the day; mask use will not be required, but is encouraged; and hand washing will happen frequently. Executive Director Zach Rozmus believes the measures taken will ensure the safety and health of park staff and campers, “It’s kind of to a point where, it’s no different where we were talking about at the board of supervisors with opening facilities, there’s always more that you can be doing. But we at least need to be making some type of effort of taking some precautions. It’s just one of those deals where if we can do as much as we can, I think we’re limiting the numbers as much as possible to try to trim it down. I think that will help, too.” July’s summer camps will begin with Kestrel Camp on Monday, where kids will learn about the wilderness through lessons focused on the life of an early explorer.
