There is an increased risk of thunderstorms in eastern Iowa Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Weather Service has placed all of Iowa under a slight risk throughout Tuesday and a marginal risk on Wednesday.
Slight means that scattered severe storms are possible with short-lived isolated intense storms possible. A marginal risk means that isolated severe thunderstorms are possible and are limited in duration, coverage, and intensity. Periods of heavy rain are expected with one to three inches possible, increasing the risk for flash floods.
