Two teenagers were arrested on felony arson charges in Washington over the weekend. On June 30th at 4:30 a.m. a car was on fire in the 1100 block of East Taylor Street in Washington. The Washington Fire Department, Washington Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, and Washington County Ambulance assisted at the scene. There were no injuries and an investigation began.
On Friday, officers arrested 19-year-old Douglas Michael Denny of Washington in connection to the incident. He was charged with arson in the second degree and criminal mischief in the second degree. Bond was set at $15,000 and he was taken to the Washington County Jail.
Early Saturday morning, 19-year-old Colby Patrick Miller of Washington turned himself in on three warrants. One warrant was connected to the car fire. Miller was charged with second degree arson, criminal mischief in the second degree, pretrial release violation, violation of probation on the original charge of possession of marijuana. His total bond was set at $23,500 cash only and he was transported to the Washington County Jail.
