Weekly, free live music is returning to Washington’s Central Park with the 2020 series of Thursday Night Live. A variety of bands will take the grandstand downtown and perform for those in the park. Washington Chamber of Commerce Event Coordinator Alisha Davis shares what people can expect starting this Thursday, “So Thursday Night Live will be similar to how it has been in previous years. We have bands from all over perform, a lot of local ones but then there are some that come from Iowa City and other areas. So, we have changed the timing this year, it’s going to be 6-7 p.m. So, we’ve moved it up a little bit to go along with farmers’ market and because the muni band will not be playing this year at 8 p.m. like they have in the past. But we have a lot of the same bands and then we have some new bands too, that we’re excited to share with everyone.”
The music will be played while the Washington Farmers’ Market is happening. This year the Washington Municipal Band has cancelled their season due to COVID-19 concerns.
