Iowa’s corn is silking and soybeans are blooming ahead of the five-year average. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 35% of corn is silking or beyond which is two days ahead of the five-year average. In southeast Iowa, 35% of corn is silking.

Statewide 58% of soybeans are blooming and 10% are setting pods. In southeast Iowa, 43% of soybeans are blooming and 6% are setting pods.

Iowa’s corn condition is rated at 18% excellent, 65% good, and 13% fair. Soybeans are 16% excellent, 67% good, and 14% fair.
