The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team is back on the diamond Wednesday to open class 3A regional play when they make the trip to Tipton to meet the Tigers. Mid-Prairie comes into the game with an overall record of 1-11. Last time out the Hawks were beaten by Camanche 2-0 on Friday in Kalona. The Golden Hawks are hitting .181 as a team, led by Rylee Vercande at .341, with 14 hits, seven runs scored and five runs driven in. In the circle, Mid-Prairie has a team ERA of 5.34, led by Myah Lugar at 4.58 in 26 innings with an 0-4 overall record.
Tipton is 4-11 this year. Last time out the Tigers were beaten by West Branch 8-0. The Tigers are hitting .216 as a team, led by Grace Nichols at .368. She has compiled 14 hits, nine driven in and a pair of runs scored. In the circle, the Tigers have a team ERA of 5.46 led by Morgan Wendel at 4.18 with a 4-7 overall record in 73 innings thrown.
