Nine new housing lots have been approved in the City of Washington. At Tuesday’s council meeting, the final plat for the NLW Subdivision on South 12th Avenue along with the construction contract were approved. The contract was awarded to Vicker Drilling for $196,350.50. The council received four bids for the work, and it had been estimated to cost nearly $277,000.
The land was formerly a vacant field east of the Whitesell property, which is now being used by Brava Roof Tile. Mayor Jaron Rosien said there’s already interest in the lots, “There’s people chomping at the bit to buy lots, and this is the step that happens right before they can be purchased.”
Any offers on lots will be presented to the city council for approval by resolution. Offers will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. The lots range in price from $22,000 to $30,000.
