Washington’s Anna Nacos continued the Iowa PGA Junior Tour on the links last week when she competed in Des Moines and finished in a tie for first in her division.
Nacos played at A.H. Blank Golf Course and tied for first out of 14 participants in the Girls 16-18 years old division. She shot a 76 (+4) in the 18 hole course including recording a birdie on hole three and four. Rylee Heryford from Newton also shot a 76 and claimed the top spot due to tiebreaker rules.
Nacos, a soon to be senior, has competed in five meets this summer for the tour and is currently in 14th out of 61 in the standings with 660 points. Fellow Demon Kiki Bruner has competed in four meets and is in 15th place with 580 points. All but one player ahead of the duo have competed in more than five competitions.
Nacos and Bruner will headline a core of Demon golfers that will return for the 2021 spring season after no season in 2020 due to COVID-19.
