This week, the Southeast Iowa Superconference announced their annual all-conference baseball awards and the Hillcrest Academy Ravens brought home a bunch of hardware.
Hillcrest had two selections each on first team, second team and honorable mention squads.
The Raven’s first teamers included senior Kobe Borntrager in the outfield. Borntrager finished the year hitting .333 with 11 hits, eight RBI and a team best 11 runs scored. His athleticism in the outfield also gave him 30 put outs in 35 attempts with only two errors on the year.
Junior Eli Ours was a first team all-conference selection on the infield. Ours finished hitting .382 to lead the Ravens at the plate. He posted a team best 13 hits to go along with eight runs scored and four driven in. He also worked 18 innings on the mound with a 1-1 record and 0.76ERA, second best mark in the Superconference.
Second team selections included junior London Schrock on the mound. Schrock ended the year with a 0.49 ERA to lead the Ravens, the Superconference and sixth in class 1A, and in the top five for pitchers who threw at least 10 innings. He posted an overall record of 2-1. At the plate he hit .286 with 11 hits, nine runs scored and two RBI.
Sophomore Noah Miller was also a second team selection on the infield. Miller hit .275 for the season with 11 total hits, nine runs scored and a pair driven in. On the mound, Miller finished with a 1-0 record and 1.83ERA.
Honorable mention selections included senior Drew Blauvelt who finished .229 at the plate with eight hits, nine runs scored and five RBI. He also threw 20 innings with a 1-3 record and 5.08 ERA. Luke Schrock was also an honorable mention selection. Schrock hit .321 with nine total hits, nine runs scored and five RBI. The Ravens finished with a 5-6 overall record.
