The SUV a woman stole after dragging a Washington Police officer earlier this month has been located. Early on August 2nd, an officer stopped a car near the intersection of North 15th Avenue and East 2nd Street. The car had been reported stolen in July to the Des Moines Police Department. The officer attempted to take the unidentified driver into custody, but she fled the scene. The vehicle dragged the officer for several blocks. The officer sustained minor injuries.

After fleeing the scene, the driver stole a tan 2007 Ford Escape with license plate JIN911. It was last seen in the West Liberty area on August 2nd. That Ford Escape was found in Des Moines at 3:09 a.m. on Monday.
