A man was taken into custody after a controlled substance was found in his vehicle on Friday. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 7:50 p.m. law enforcement officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1200-grid of Highway 218. During the traffic stop, the odor of a controlled substance was detected inside the vehicle of 25-year-old Amar Abdullah of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After a search of the vehicle, multiple items were located including an unnamed controlled substance. Abdullah was taken into custody and was charged with controlled substance violations and failure to affix drug stamp, both class D felonies. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Transportation Officers, and area tow services assisted at the scene.
