
The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association recently released the all state teams for the 2020 season and a few area players made the cut.
Washington’s Reece Mayer had a big summer and his efforts resulted in a third team selection for class 3A. The junior tallied a .377 batting average on the shortened season with 17 runs driven in and his .698 slugging percentage led the Southeast Conference. He produced 20 hits including 10 in the extra base variety.
Sigourney had two players recognized with Cade Molyneux on the second team and Josh Mohr on the third team for class 1A. Molyneux recorded a .492 on base percentage and paced the team with 27 RBI. Mohr had the top batting average in the South Iowa Cedar League with .522 and he also scored 19 times.
Washington finished 9-8 and Sigourney had a 10-6 record.
