Area athletes are returning to competition this week and Washington High School has announced safety guidelines for spectators to follow at events due to COVID-19. People should not go to events if they have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 14 days or if they are experiencing symptoms like a fever over 100.4 degrees, cough, shortness of breath, headache, or loss of taste or smell.

Fan capacity will vary at Washington Demon sports this fall. Seats will be marked with blue tape to show people where to sit to allow for social distancing.

All fans will be required to wear a face covering at all times at indoor venues. At outdoor venues, face coverings are strongly encouraged. Students cheering on from student sections will be required to wear face coverings.

Concessions will be available at high school events but there will be no concessions at middle school events. The announcement states the guidelines may evolve as the school year progresses as guidelines may change.
