Southeast Conference play will start up tomorrow for the Washington volleyball team when they make a trip to Mount Pleasant to face their rival Panthers.
The Demons opened the season last week falling to Mid-Prairie in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-10, and 25-22. Halle Barkema led the offense with five kills for a team that has seven seniors also including Taylor Brinning, Emma Nichols, Olivia Marek, Brynn Beenblossom, Sophia Kleese, and Cameron Malichky.
Mount Pleasant had a much busier first week and sit at 1-7 with their only win coming against Davis County. Kenna Lamm leads the Panther attack with 28 kills, Regan Seberg has 46 digs, and the team has been successful on 92% of their serves.
These two teams split a pair of meetings in 2019 with the Demons finishing with an 11-23 record and the Panthers 7-27.
The conference showdown begins at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in Mount Pleasant and spectators are asked to wear face coverings.
