Longtime Sigourney Fire Chief Bill Halleran has stepped down from his position and passed the torch to a new chief. Halleran has served on the Sigourney Fire Department since 1999 and became chief in 2005. Although stepping down as chief, he will still be a member of the fire department for the foreseeable future. Halleran decided it was time to retire from the position and allow a new chief to take over and continue to push the department forward. Sigourney Pastor Dave Welch will take over Halleran’s position as Sigourney Fire Chief.
