The Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team will meet the Wapello Arrows for the second time on the young season when they hit the road tonight. The Wolves come into the match with an overall record of 5-2. They opened the Superconference season on Thursday with a win over Pekin in four sets by scores of 23-25, 25-14, 25-14 and 25-13. In the match the Wolves were led by Jenna Buffington with 11 kills, Keely Malone with 18 assists and Kyndal Townsley with 15 digs. For the season, Buffington leads the Wolves and Superconference North with 54 kills. Malone is best on the team and second in the league with 59 assists. Townsley paces the Wolves and is eighth in the Superconference with 46 digs.
Wapello is 4-6 on the year. Last time out they split two matches in a triangular, beating Keokuk two out of three and falling to WACO in straight sets. On the season the Arrows are led by Lindsy Massner with 46 kills, second best in the Superconference North. Masser leads the Arrows, Superconference and is fifth in class 1A with 91 digs. Sarah Shafer leads the North with 111 assists. These two teams met at the West Branch tournament on August 29th with the Lady Wolves winning in straight sets. Action begins tonight at 5:30 at Wapello High School.
