Homecoming activities at Mid-Prairie have been pushed back to the first week in October. The school district will also limit the number of fans at home games. Superintendent Mark Schneider explains, “Last week, we had some home athletic events scheduled and we had teams that did not want to come to Mid-Prairie because of their perception of the numbers and things that were going on. Part of the discussion was Tyler Hotz, the activities director, who had received the idea from the football coaches, talking about the possibility of limiting spectators at our home events. The idea is that it gives the perceptions of other districts that Mid-Prairie is trying to do something to address the situation of our student numbers increasing and then try to keep people safer.”

Every athlete, coach, and marching band member at Mid-Prairie will receive four tickets for football games and three tickets for volleyball games to give to anyone they want for admission to a game. Visiting teams will also receive a limited number of tickets for admission. Homecoming activities and games will now take place the week of October 5. As of Wednesday, 125 students and a staff member are in quarantine due to coming in contact with a COVID-19 positive case, and six students or staff have tested positive for COVID-19.
