A host of KCII area cross country teams travel to Fairfield Thursday for their next action. The Washington Demons will be on the course tonight. They last ran in Ottumwa a week ago. Washington was fourth in the girls race led by Grace Voss in 15th, for the boys it was a sixth place team finish with Micah Reese 23rd to lead the way.

Hillcrest Academy will also run tonight in Fairfield. They have not been on the course since their early bird meet over a week ago to open the season. At home, the Ravens were led on the girls side by Leah Bontrager with her eighth place finish. The Hillcrest boys were paced by Collin Miller in 21st.

Winfield-Mt. Union has also been off since the Hillcrest early bird. In Kalona the Wolves were led by Avery Mader on the girls side in 19th. The WMU boys finished fifth in the team race led by Dane Sweezer in 12th.

The Highland Huskies ran at Keota on Tuesday of this week. The Highland boys finished fourth in the team standings at 131 points. The Highland girls did not post a team score that night.

Lone Tree also ran at Hillcrest Academy last week. The Lions finished sixth in the boys standings with Nick Saltzman taking 18th individually.

Joining these five teams tonight are Cardinal, Chariton, Clear Creek Amana, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Mount Pleasant, Burlington Notre Dame, Ottumwa, Pekin, Van Buren, and Wapello.

Action begins at 4:30 and continues into the evening at Waterworks Park.
